June started off really well when it came to reading but towards the end I found myself in a major reading slump and I didn’t pick up a book for over a week. I just felt like I wanted to do everything else but read which was really frustrating. Luckily I did manage to read four books before this reading slump took over the rest of the month but I am a little disappointed in myself because I didn’t manage to read the other two books on my TBR for last month.

Radio Silence by Alice Oseman
Radio Silence was everything I wanted it to be. From the very start I fell in love with the story, characters and most of all the writing. Once I started reading this I found it very difficult to put it down. I will be checking out Alice Oseman’s other books because I absolutely loved reading Radio Silence.

Green Valley by Louis Greenberg
I read Green Valley after reading a heavy historical book and for me it was the perfect read because it was a quick and easy read that I lost myself in for a few hours. I really liked the originality of the story and I found it intriguing and something very different from what I have read in the past.

Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel
I started the month of June by reading Wolf Hall and I am so glad I did because I think if I tried to pick this up towards the end of the month I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much. This is a highly detailed book and it did take me quite a few days to get through it all but I really did enjoy every minute reading it and I will be continuing on with the series in the future.

Alex in Wonderland by Simon James Green
Originally Alex in Wonderland wasn’t on my TBR but after buying it I couldn’t not start it because the synopsis was too enticing and all the reviews I read online made me want to pick up this book even more. I am so glad I did read it because it was amazing. I had a smile on my face throughout and this is easily one of my favourite reads of the year.

Book of the Month
This month there was one book that stuck out immediately as my favourite and that was Alex in Wonderland by Simon James Green. This is the second book of Simon James Green that I have read and I need more because his writing is both funny and full of heart. From the very first chapter of Alex in Wonderland I was laughing out loud and had a massive grin on my face. This book is the definition of ‘unputdownable’ because I found it so difficult to put it down and if I did it was only for a few minutes because I had to drive straight back into the story again. I don’t think I have shipped a relationship so much as the one in this book and I have my fingers and everything crossed so hopefully we can have more stories about Alex and his awesome friends. I now need to finish reading the Noah series.

What is your Book of the Month?

I’ve had Wolf Hall on my list since not long after it came out but haven’t read it yet. I know it’s supposed to be good, but I’ve been waiting for the final book in the trilogy to be published.
