April Wrap Up

April started off really well and I managed to read two books in just a few days but then the dreaded reading slump appeared and I didn’t touch a book or really spend much time on the book community for nearly three weeks. This is the longest reading slump I’ve ever had and I really thought I would never snap out of it. I found it difficult to concentrate or motivate myself to even do anything to do with books. Luckily towards the end of the month I managed to read two more books before April ended, so there was only one book from my TBR that I didn’t read.

Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

There is so much hype for Aurora Rising at the moment, every special edition sells out in minutes and everyone wants to read the first book in this new series. I was so lucky to receive this book a couple of weeks back from the publisher and I am so happy that I got the opportunity to read this a few weeks early because its amazing. I loved everything about this book, it had me on the edge of my seat and had me glued to every page until the very end. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for the new book in the series.

Geekerella by Ashley Poston

I suffered with a huge reading slump last month and I went nearly three weeks without picking up one book or reading a single word. But towards the end of the month I decided to try and snap out of the slump and read Geekerella, and I am so glad I did. I read the entire book in just one sitting and I loved every minute of it. The characters, the story, the geekiness was perfection and I fell in love with everything, I cant believe I have waited so long to read this book.

The Princess and the Fangirl by Ashley Poston

After  finally snapping out of my reading slump and reading and loving Geekerella I immediately wanted to read The Princess and the Fangirl because if it was anything like Geekerella then I knew I would love reading it. And I was right because I loved this book just as much as Geekerella. I found myself smiling to myself while reading and at times it had me bursting out loud with laughter. I am so glad I got a review copy of this book because if not I might not have read either of these books.

Book of the Month

This month I have decided to go with the book that got me out of my reading slump and that was Geekerella by Ashley Poston. All the books I read this month were really enjoyable and I did like reading them all but Geekerella stood out for me because it was so light hearted and funny, and really well written that it was easy to get me out of my reading slump. It’s the sort of book that you can get easily lost in and enjoy every minute reading it.
