July’s Fairyloot Unboxing

July’s Fairyloot theme was The Power Within and the theme is really intriguing and mysterious. I really liked the art for this months card and it got me excited to see what was going to be included in the box. Again like most months I had no idea what items or fandoms were going to be featured in the box, but with the theme I knew there would be some really interesting ones.

Unboxing

The first item in the box was this Exclusive Magical Mug by Little Inkling Designs. The mug is magical because it reveals a hidden quote once hot liquid is poured into the mug. The quote featured on the mug is from the Falling Kingdoms series by Morgan Rhodes. I really like the idea of this item, the mug looks all unassuming when its black, but once something hot is poured into it the black fades to white and reveals a colourful quote, and I love it.

The second item in the box was this Exclusive Theron’s Study Room Spray by Geeky Clean. The spray is based off the Snow Like Ashes series by Sara Raasch, and the scent of the spray is Lavender and Books. I really like the idea of a room spray because its something different and useful. The scent of the room spray is pleasant and not overpowering, something lavender can be a very strong scent but thats not the case for this room spray.

The third item in the box was this Exclusive Ond Elder Vinyl Sticker by Reverie and Ink. The quote is from Sky in the Deep by Adrienne Young and it means ‘Breathe Fire’. I have not read Sky in the Deep yet so I am a little unsure of the significance but hopefully when I do get round to reading it the sticker will be a bit more exciting.

The next item was this Exclusive Tea Towel designed by KDP Letters. The tea towel features a quote from And I Darken series by Kiersten White. There is a little problem with this item because it has been printed back to front so the text on the towel in backwards. Its not a massive problem but its just a little difficult to read the quote correctly. Fairyloot have already contacted subscribers and said that we will have another tea towel sent to us when they have a new batch.

Another item in the box was this Exclusive Quidditch Pen by Fairyloot. I am in absolute love with this pen and think its one of the best items ever to be included in the history of Fairyloot box. The broomstick pen also features a quote by J.K Rowling, and I think its perfect.

This Exclusive Zelie Art Print by Diana Worak was also included in the box. The art print is of the character Zelie from the Children of Blood and Bone series by Tomi Adeyemi. I really like this print, its very eye catching, full of detail and I love the colours used.

The book featured in this box was Heart of Thorns by Bree Barton. I have to admit that I have not heard anything about this book before seeing it in this box, and having now read the synopsis for it, I cant wait to get round to reading it. This was also an exclusive edition of the book because it had sprayed red pages, and it was signed by the author. There was also a letter from the author and a character artwork drawn by Noverantale with the book.

Overall Thoughts

The Power Within box was a bit of a mixed bag for me because I really liked some items, whereas some of the other items in the box I wasn’t too keen on. I did like that there were quite a few new book fandoms included and that there were some interesting and thought out items. But I think its because some of these fandoms are completely new to me that I am not too fussed about the items. When I get round to reading them I might understand the items and like them a bit more. I liked the idea of the book being signed by the author instead of a book plate, it definitely makes getting this box more worthwhile.

If you are thinking to subscribing to FairyLoot then I would suggest signing up to their Newsletter and they will get in contact with you with new themes and the date for when the boxes become available to order.

Fairyloot

I have already subscribed to the next box, which has the theme of Mutinous Pirates. I am excited to see what items they have planned to featured in the box because I love the theme title and the suppliers that have been revealed looks like its going to be a great box.
