I am still playing catch up with these unboxings, hopefully one day I will finally get caught up. Anyway Fairyloot’s theme for May was Save the Kingdom. I was really intrigued by this theme, and I had no idea on what items they would include in the box, or the featured book. So the entire box was a complete surprise.

The first item in the box was this Exclusive Fear Book Sleeve designed by Reverie & Ink. The quote is from An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir. The book sleeve is a really good size and will fit a rather chunky book. The sleeve is also water proof, which is another added bonus, especially in the summer months where people normally read near a pool. I really like the bright colours used in the design for this sleeve, its very eye catching.

The second item were these Exclusive Wyrd Mark Page Flags designed by Fictiontea Designs. The Page Flags are inspired by the word marks from the Throne of Glass series by Sarah. J Maas. I have to admit that I have never used page flags before and I am a little unsure if I would use these. They are a nice item to have and are definitely something different, but I don’t think I would ever get round to using them.

The next item is this Exclusive Weapon Coaster designed by Evie Bookish. The coaster is inspired from The Winners Trilogy by Marie Rutkoski. I have never read The Winner Trilogy but I have heard some really great reviews about it, perhaps one day I will get round to reading it. I have another coaster that has a similar design to this so I do like this item and its always handy having a spare coaster.

Also included in this box was this Save the Kingdom Tea by The Tea Leaf Co. This tea is something different because normally in bookish boxes its a different flavoured fruity tea, but this time its is an English Breakfast Tea. I am not a very big tea drinker, and I have yet to try loose tea, but once I finally get round to trying loose tea, this will probably be my first choice just because it is kind of like the tea I am used too.

There was also this Exclusive Norgard Vegan Bath Bomb included in the box. The bath bomb was created by Little Hearts Gem and is inspired by the book Onyx & Ivory. With this being a new book I have yet to read the book so I am a little unsure how the bath bomb relates to the story, but I love the scent of the bath bomb, so can not wait to try it out, and to read the book to learn more about Norgard.

The final bookish item included in this box was a completely new item, it has never been included in a Fairyloot box before. The item was this Exclusive Remnant Vegan Lip Scrub by Geeky Clean. The lip scrub is inspired by The Remnant Chronicles by Mary E. Pearson. There were three different varieties sent out, one for each kingdom. I got the Morrighan Kingdom. I have never seen or every used a lip scrub before but its something very different.

The book for this box was Onyx & Ivory by Mindee Arnett. This book is filled with magic, romance, action and intrigue and I am very excited to get round to reading it. This edition of the book was also a Fairyloot exclusive because it has sprayed black pages, and I have to say that it looks stunning! There was also a signed bookplate, an author letter, sticker and an exclusive character art of Kate and Corwin by Emily Haynes.

Overall Thoughts
I have to say that this box was a little hit and miss for me, I really liked some of the items, but not that keen on others. I just think that sometimes the items are bit samey and the only difference with them is that its based on a different fandom. The redeeming item for me is the book. It sounds interesting and something that I would enjoy reading, and its also an exclusive with the prayed pages, which makes buying this box more worth it. I liked that in this box they have decided to include an item that they have never done before, I just wish it was something completely different, then perhaps this box would of stood out a little bit more.
If you are thinking to subscribing to FairyLoot then I would suggest signing up to their Newsletter and they will get in contact with you with new themes and the date for when the boxes become available to order.

I have already subscribed to the next box, which has the theme of Rebels in Ballgowns. I am excited to see what items they have planned to featured in the box because I love the theme title and the suppliers that have been revealed looks like its going to be a great box.
