February’s Fairyloot Unboxing

The theme for February’s Fairyloot was Twisted Tales. After hearing about the theme I was intrigued to see what sort of items they would include in the box. I did have a little idea of what the book would be, but I didn’t think it would look as beautiful as it does.

The first item in the Twisted Tales box was this Exclusive Grimm Tales Mug designed by Aunjuli Art. The art on the mug depicts a few of the Grimm’s tales. I love the design for this and I really like how the design warps around the whole mug. I could even fit all the art into two pictures. I can definitely see myself using this mug while reading.

The second item was this Exclusive The Hinterland Candle made by Wick and Fable. I have had a couple of candles by Wick and Fable and they have always spelt wonderful, and this candle is no exception. The scent for this one is Oakmoss and tea leaves. Also the candle is inspired by the book featured in this box, the author helped come up with the scent of the candle.

Also included was this Exclusive Poisonious Apple Bath Salts by Little Heart. I loved the vibrant green colour of the bath salt. This item fits perfectly with the theme because its one of the Grimm’s tales, Snow White.  I cannot wait to the salts in the bath.

Another item was these Exclusive The Witch and the Gingerbread House Socks designed by Fairyloot. Love the design for these, the witch’s hat the the gingerbread house, fit in with the box’s theme. The socks are really soft to touch and I am sure they will be very comfy to wear.

The final bookish item in this box was this Exclusive Little Red Riding Hood Woodmark made by Ink and Wonder. I absolutely love wooden bookmarks, and this one has to be one of my favourites. The art is stunning and very eye catching. I will be using this when I read the book included in this box.

The book included in the Twisted Tales box was The Hazel Wood by Melissa Albert. The Hazel Wood is a dark fantasy with a Grimm fairytale feel. I haven’t read this book but after reading the synopsis, I am very intrigued. This edition of the book is exclusive to Fairyloot because its a hardback edition, and its signed by the author. Also included was a letter from the author.

Overall Thoughts

When the theme was announced for this box I was very intrigued to see what items and fandoms Fairyloot would include. While I did like the items that were included in this box, I feel that perhaps they could of included a couple of different items that weren’t inspired by Grimm’s tales. Don’t get me wrong I know that all these items are different and unique, I just wish they would of gone with a couple more fandoms to make this box a little more varied. The standout items for me were the exclusive woodmark and the exclusive edition of The Hazel Wood.

If you are thinking to subscribing to FairyLoot then I would suggest signing up to their Newsletter and they will get in contact with you with new themes and the date for when the boxes become available to order.

Fairyloot

I have already subscribed to the next box, which has the theme of Memorable Moments. I am excited to see what items they have planned to featured in the box because I love the theme title and the suppliers that have been revealed looks like its going to be a great box.
