This month I managed to read nine book, which was a few more than the month before. I had a really good reading month as well because all the books were at least 4/5 stars. I managed to read a couple of books from new authors, and I will definitely be checking out their other books.

They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera
After a slow start, I really enjoyed reading this. The story was original and interesting and as usual the writing was spot on. Adam Silvera can do no wrong, and can’t wait to see what he dreams up next.

The Loneliest Girl In The Universe by Lauren James
This book deserves all the hype its been getting, because its bloody brillaint. My eyes were glued to every page and I didn’t put the book down until I had read the very last page.

Darkness Visible by Nicholas Tucker
This is a different type of book from what I would normally read because its non-fiction, but I really enjoyed it . It was very insightful and I learnt quite a few things about the His Dark Materials series as well as Philip Pullman.

Rattle by Fiona Cummins
A very dark and creepy thriller. I read this in only a couple of sitting and I absolutely loved it. Even though it did scare me a little while reading because the story was so dark and chilling, I did enjoy reading it.

IT by Stephen King
I finally finished IT this month. After nearly two whole months reading this book, I finally finished. It was such an amazing story, even if it was a little too long. I can see why people say this is one of Stephen King’s best books, because I loved it.

Trapped in Silver by Emily Sowden
This was a re-read for me as part of a read along on Twitter. I really liked the book the first time round and was a little worried I wouldn’t like it as much the second time round, but I was so wrong. It was brilliant.

Never Say Never by Anthony Horowitz
I was both excited and neverous to read this because when I was younger I loved the Alex Rider series, and I thought it ended perfectly. So I was a little worried that perhaps this latest instalment wasn’t needed. But I needn’t had worried because I really enjoyed it.

The Owl At The Window by Carl Gorham
This is another book I wouldn’t normally pick up and read, but I am so glad I was sent this to review because I found it, emotional, heartbreaking, interesting and really well written book.

American War by Omar El Akkad
There has been some really good reviews for this book, and I was excited to read something new by a new author. I found the beginning of the book a little slow and hard to get into, but after the first 100 pages I found it to be a good read.

Book of the Month
My book of the month has to be The Loneliest Girl in the Universe by Lauren James. Even though there was a lot of hype surrounding this book, and I read some really positive reviews before starting the book, I still wasn’t prepared for how amazing this book actually was. I found the story to be really interesting and exciting, as well as being very mysterious. This is a book that will have you thinking about it, even when you are not reading it. I found myself wondering how the book was going to end because I really couldn’t guess anything that was going to happen. Also I loved the writing, it was so engaging and beautifully written. Even though it was set in space, I could picture everything that was happening and it felt like I was reading a script for a really intense sci-fi movie. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who was an amazing sci-fi book with a thriller twist.
