It seems like its been ages since the last Illumicrate box, so when I got the shipping notification I was waiting in anticipation for it to arrive. After some of the suppliers were revealed, I was intrigued to see what sort of items would be featured in this box.
Unboxing
The first item was this Feyre Mug made exclusively by Merwild. The design on this mug is stunning, I love the three different images of Feyre. I like how it is repeated, so no matter what side you look at the mug, you can always see the three images. The mug feels and looks like it is made of really high quality, so I think it will last quite a while.
The second item was this Swish and Flick Keychain made by Nutmeg and Arlo. This keychain is exclusive for Illumicrate because of the colour, and I have to say that I really like the blue colour, and I like it because it is very sparkly and shiny. I also think that this is a perfect size for a keychain, not too big or too heavy, and very stylish.
Another item featured in this box was this Map Bookmark made by Penguin Co. Again this was another exclusive item especially made for this box. I have to say I think this is one of the most visually stunning and intricate bookmarks I have even gotten in a subscription box. I am a little scared to use it just incase I rip it or break it.
Also featured in the box was these Beauty and the Beast Print and Door Hanger made by TJ Lubrano. The design and art work on both of these pieces are so beautiful to look at. Both the print and the door hanger have a very high quality feel and I might even frame the print because I like it that much.
Also included was this Mermaid Lagoon Candle made by Flickerink. I have seen this company on Instagram for a while now, so when I knew they were making an exclusive item for this box I was excited to see what it was. As soon as I opened the lid off the candle my entire room smelt wonderful, and the scent when lit last for a long time.
Other items included in this box was this Gender Games Pin Badge and Taste of Blue Light Postcards.
In this Illumicrate there were two books, the first one was The Waking Land by Callie Bates. I have heard some mixed reviews about this book, but the description has won me over, so hopefully when I get round to reading it, I will enjoy it. The book also came with a letter from the author and a bookmark. There was meant to be a signed book plate, but I never received one.
The second book featured in this box was Truth or Dare by Non Pratt. Again I have seen this book all over the bookstagram community, so I was glad to find this in this months box. I have never read anything by Non Pratt before but after seeing some great reviews for her other books, I am excited to read this one. The book also came with a letter from the author.
Overall Thoughts
Overall I really liked this box, I found that it had the right mix of items and it would appeal to all book lovers. I liked that again this box featured two books that are both entirely different, and books that haven’t been featured in other subscription boxes. All the items featured in this box are all made to such a high standard, it hard to even pick a favourite. One thing I know is that its going to be a long three month wait until my next Illumicrate unboxing.
