When I got offered to read and review The Inventory series by Andy Briggs, I excepted straight away, because after only reading the blurb for the first book I knew that this series is a must read for me. It has gadgets, dangerous weapons and action, so it has everything you need for a thrilling series.

Iron Fist
Hidden under a small suburban town, the Inventory is a collection of the most incredible technology the world has NEVER seen: invisible camouflage, HoverBoots, indestructible metals, and the deadly war robot Iron Fist. Dev’s uncle, Charlie Parker, is the Inventory’s mild-mannered curator, with security provided by Eema, a beyond-state-of-the-art artificial intelligence system. But security is catastrophically breached when Lot and Mason from school turn up unexpectedly and, hot on their heels, a ruthless gang of thieves working for the Collector and the Shadow Helix organization. If the thieves succeed in their goal to seize the Iron Fist, Dev, his friends, and the world are in a whole heap of trouble.
I managed to read Iron Fist in just one sitting. It had me hooked from the very first page and before I knew it I came to the end of the book. It is only 283 pages, so its not a monster of a book, but the story that is told over these 283 pages is a monster. With me being 26 years old I don’t find myself reading many children’s books, but I am so glad I got the chance to read this one because it was amazing.
The Inventory series is about Dev and his uncle, Charles, who are the keepers to a secret place called the Inventory, where hundreds and hundreds of banned and unsafe gadgets are kept. Some of the gadgets in the Inventory are deadly and have to be hidden from people who would use them against other people. The Collector is one of these people trying to gain access to the Inventory to take a gadget called Iron Fist. Soon Dev and Charles find themselves under attack from the Collector and the organisation he works for Shadow Helix. Dev and his uncle have to make sure they stop the Collector from entering the Inventory.
The characters, the story and the writing was all so engaging and interesting. I was full immersed into the story after the first couple of pages and I was completely sucked in by the end. I found the plot to be original and exciting to read, easy to understand and enjoy. As soon as I finished I knew I would have to start the second book because I was intrigued to find out what would happen next.

Gravity
Hidden under a small suburban town, the Inventory is a collection of the most incredible technology the world is NOT ready for. In this sequel to Iron Fist, much of the Inventory’s technology has fallen into the wrong hands including Newton’s Arrow, a powerful weapon that can manipulate gravity. It’s up to Dev and his friends to get it back, and they follow the weapon’s trail around the world. Along the way they learn the terrible truth about Newton’s Arrow’s capabilities. as well as disturbing details about Dev’s origins.
After enjoying the first book in The Inventory series, Iron Fist, I had high hopes for this book, and I can happily say that my hopes were met. If anything Gravity to me was an even better read for me than Iron Fist. Normally the second book in the series does not meet the high standards of the first book, but I can safely say that Gravity is an exception to the rule.
I think I enjoyed Gravity more because everything had already been set up in the first book, so with this one you can dive straight into the story and the action. I liked how Dev developed as a character and I loved reading about him. He is an interesting and intriguing main character who you can help get behind when reading. I also liked how the plot progressed in this book, I don’t want to give much away about the plot because there are a few twists and turns, but I will say that the plot was captivating and gripping.
Again, Andy Briggs writing is well written and easy to read. Like the first book I managed to read this book in one sitting, and I enjoyed every minute of it. I am excited to see where the story is going to progress from here and I know I will be reading the third book in the series soon.

Black Knight
Dev and his friends are back with more mind-bending tech in this third installment of the Inventory series. The World Consortium is recruiting more agents to defend the most advanced technology the world isn’t ready for, and it’s up to Dev, Lottie and Mase to train them up for action. But will they be ready before Shadow Helix’s next strike? And has Dev uncovered all the secrets of his past, or is there more to know about his special abilities?
After reading and enjoying the first two books in The Inventory series, I was a little worried that Black Knight wouldn’t be able to live up to the previous books. But I think this is a series where the books get better and better as the series continues.
I don’t want to spoil the plot too much seems as this is the third book in the series, but I will say that the plot does seem to be growing more and more with each of the books. I liked the addition of the new characters in this book, and I think it gave the story a little refresh and some new life.
Just like Iron Fist and Gravity, I managed to read the entire book in just one sitting. All three books so far are under 300 pages and I think its the perfect amount because the plot is full of action, with very little slow parts. The writing again was superb and very engaging, which is another reason why this book is so easy to read. By the end of the book there are a few questions left unanswered and its going to be strange waiting to see what is going to happen next, after binge reading these three books in a week.
