A drastic change within an enchanted Forest occurs in The Falling, the mystical first volume of The Forest Spirit series. An upheaval of normalcy affects the various kingdoms of mythical beings and animals caused by a Higher Spirit’s fall from grace. Now it’s up to a group of the smallest and most oblivious of creatures, the nymphs, to save their Forest and reinstate the Forest’s spiritual balance of good and evil. Narena, her brother Nyxen, and debonair warrior Kellen join forces with a sassy faery, wise salamander, and human witches to discover that even the tiniest of beings can create an enormous impact on the world around them.

When I read the description for this book I knew straight away that I wanted to give it a read because it sounded so different to what I normally read, and something that I would enjoy reading. Now having read the book I can honestly say that I loved it and can not wait to get stuck into the sequel.

This is the first story I have ever read that contains nymphs. Normally books like this, the main creatures are faeries or other common mythical creatures. I found the story new a refreshing because it didn’t go with the norm and used something different instead. I found Narena and Nyxen interesting to read about and I loved them both as characters in the book.

T. Damon’s writing is both magical and enchanting. I managed to read this book in one sitting because I didn’t want to put the book down. I was gripped by the interesting story and the creative world building in the book. Even after reading a couple of pages I found myself transported into the forest and leaving the real world. One of the reasons why I want to read the sequel is that it gives me another chance to read the authors writing again.

If I had to criticise the book in one way, I would say that its too short. I could of easily sat and read a book double the size and I don’t think I would of got bored or tired of the world or the characters. Even though I thought the story and the characters were all developed in the current 169 pages, I just wish there were pages to flesh everything a little bit more. I don’t want this to put you off from reading this brilliant book because what is written is such a wonderful story, that needs to be read by all.

I would definitely recommend this book to everyone who loves books about mythical creatures and enchanted forests, and to people who have never read them sort of books before, because this is something new and exciting that is beautifully written. I cant wait to start the sequel and drive back into the world.
