For the month of September I managed to read a total of nine books. I didn’t manage to read all the books I put on my TBR, but I did read quite a few of them. Some books I enjoyed this month, and some books I was a little disappointed with this month.
Below are all the books I read and my favourite book of the month.
Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas
I enjoyed reading this series the past year and Empire of Storms definitely didn’t disappoint. I was gripped from the beginning to the very end of this big chunky book. The only downside of reading it now is that I have to wait a year or more the sequel to be released.

Robin Hood Demon’s Bane Series -Mark of the Black Arrow by Debbie Viguie and James R Tuck
I was really excited to read this book, I thought a story about Robin Hood mixed with dark fantasy would be an epic read, however I was left a little disappointed. One of the major problems I had with the book was the fact that Robin Hood didn’t really feature enough in the book. I wanted the story to be more on him than some of the other characters in the book. I held out hope that the sequel would be better.

Robin Hood Demon’s Bane Series- The Two Tor
cs by Debbie Viguie and James R Tuck
After reading the first book I didn’t go into this book with such high expectations, so when I finished the book I wasn’t as disappointed in it compared the first book. This book did have more of Robin Hood in, but I still did not enjoy the story as much as I thought. Now I have started this series though I will read the last book in the trilogy to see how it all ends.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
I wanted to try and re-read the entire series before seeing the film at the cinema, I failed in reading the other two books, but I did manage to read the first one. I enjoyed reading the book more the second time round, I don’t know if that’s because I was swept up in ‘Loop Day’ but all the characters were brilliant and relatable and I just loved the world. I will have to continue the re-read soon so I can finally read the third book.

The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery
I first read this a few years ago and I absolutely loved it, after re-reading it this month I still love it but not as much. I don’t know why my opinion changed, I suppose its because my reading tastes have changed since I last read it. Don’t get me wrong this is still a great book full of heart, I think I was expecting to fall back in love with the book all over again.

The Return of the Young Prince by A G Roemmers
After finding out that this sequel to The Little Prince was being released I immediately wanted to read it. I was very impressed with The Return of the Young Prince. It had some of the charm and feels from the first book and had some stunning illistrations also. Even though The Little Prince did not really need a sequel, The Return of the Young Prince does not disappoint and is a great read.

Holding up the Universe by Jennifer Niven
I absolutely loved All the Bright Places so Holding up the Universe had to be something really special to beat it, and I think it did. Holding up the Universe took me on a rollercoaster of emotions and I was able to devour the whole book in a day. I didn’t want to put it down because I was so invested in the story and the characters.

The Novice by Taran Matharu
I’ve had this book for a long time and I don’t know why its taken me so long to pick up because this book is amazing. It has everything you need for a great novel, it has magic, demons, well developed characters all set in this stunning fantasy world. I cant believe I have waited so long to start this series. I was meant to carry on and read the second book in the series in September, but I ran out of time.

Children of Icarus by Caighlan Smith
The idea for this book sounded brilliant, a mix between Maze Runner and Hunger Games with angels thrown in. I was really excited to read this book, but again I was a little disappointed in it. To me the book was to samey to the Maze Runner series and I couldn’t help but visualise that all way through this book. I wish I could of liked this book more.

Favourite Book of the Month
It was hard to pick this month because I have read some great books, but the one that has stuck since I finished reading it is Holding up the Universe by Jennifer Niven. I will go into why I fell in love with this book in my full review, but I will just say that if you get a chance to read this book please do, you will not be disappointed.
