I have not read many Sci-Fi books but this book has definitely got me more interested in the genre. From start to finish its packed full of action and drama, which makes this book a fun and fast read. Another plus about this book is the illustrations that are dotted around the book, they bring another dimension to the book and they are great to look at.
Last Judgement is about Dylan Anderson who has hit rock bottom and is exhausted from life’s ups and downs. He then finds himself at the wrong place at the wrong time, where he is unexpectedly swept away in an adventure so bizarre, it’s out of this world.
What I liked about this book was that it has two different stories being told throughout the book. One story is with Dylan and the adventure he keeps up to when he gets abducted and the other story is the people who know Dylan. Both stories are equally good and very interesting.
The book is just over 60 pages long which is great for a fast and easy read. Michael Canon has used all these pages to tell a great adventure story set not just in space but on earth too. Its his first book you cant tell because the book reads so well its like reading a book from an author that has already found his feet.
If I had one improvement I would like it to be a bit longer. When Dylan is abducted I think the environment he found himself in could of been built up a bit more. Don’t get me wrong the author does a great job in describing the world and its characters, but it left me wanting more. I will be sure to pick up the sequels because its left me wanting to find out what happens next.
I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good Sci-Fi read or to someone who wants to start to read Sci-Fi because of the shortness of the book. Don’t be put off my the number of pages in the book because it doesn’t read like a short undeveloped book, its full of great characters, action and plot.
I rate this book 4/5 stars.
***I was sent a copy of this book by the author to review. Everything in this review is my own honest opinions.***
